Shillong, Jan 22: Hindus from across Jaiñtia Hills on Monday gathered at Shiv Mandir Complex, Jowai to take part in the Pran Pratishtha Patrika and to witness the inauguration of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
The event at the Complex to celebrate the inauguration of the Mandir was organised by Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Jowai.
The Complex was decorated and TVs were installed to broadcast the live inauguration from Ayodhya.
Devotees were seen offering prayers, tying mauli (sacred thread) on their wrist and prasad and foods were also served to the devotees and invitees.
Bholak Kumar Gupta the Secretary of VHP – Jowai said that today is a memorable day because the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya was reopened after 500 years.
He informed that both the Tribals and Non Tribals were present at the Complex to witness the Inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.
Gupta thanked the Iawmusiang Dorbar for granting permission to celebrate the day, he further thanked the officials from Seiñraij Jowai and the District Administration for for their support.
