Shillong, June 19: The MDC from Mylliem and Congress leader, Ronnie V Lyngdoh on Monday said that if Congress party don’t support the National People’s Party (NPP) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) then Governor’s rule will be imposed.
Congress’ 6 MDCs will join with 12 from the NPP to form a new Executive Committee (EC) alliance- Khasi Hills Democratic Front.
While speaking to the reporters after the first day of Summer Session, Ronnie said that the decision made by the Congress was in best interests of the KHADC.
“Supposed, we do not support the NPP, Governor’s rule will be imposed here…”, he said.
Lyngdoh also went on to say that if the Governor’s rule are imposed who will protect, preserve the customary laws the land rights practices by the Khasi people.
“These are the issues that made us decide to support, so if they bring in the amendment of the six schedule in the parliament we will give our views and opinions. To what is right we will give our support”, he added.
