Agra, May 19: In a shocking discovery of unaccounted cash, the Income Tax (IT) Department’s investigation wing recovered around Rs. 60 Crore cash during raids in the house of a shoe manufacturer in Agra, UP, on Saturday. The raids are ongoing at multiple locations of the Ramnath Dang, who owns Harmilap Traders, in Jaipur House.

According to reports, the IT team arrived at Ramnath Dang’s house at 11 a.m. on Saturday. During the search operation, huge amounts of cash were found in various parts of the house, with most of the notes being ₹500 denominations. Due to its large volume, machines had to be brought in to count the cash.

Meanwhile, during the raid, the gates of neighbouring houses were closed, and no one ventured outside. Security has been beefed up outside the Dang’s residence.

Images of the seized notes on a bed inside the house of the businessman went viral on social media. However, the IT department has not issued an official statement regarding the raids.

In a similar raid in 2022, the IT department recovered a staggering Rs. 196 Cr from the house of Piyush Jain, a Pan Masala trader in Agra, UP.
