Shillong, Oct 13: Two top level official of the Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM) have been selected to join the Organizing Committee for the prestigious International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final 2024, set to take place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges in New Delhi.
John F. Kharshiing, President of SAM and Vice President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), along with Neil Sootinck, Executive Body Member of NRAI and General Secretary of SAM, will represent Meghalaya in Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun events. They are among several Indian representatives attending the competition, which will be held from October 13 to 18.
The event will see athletes compete in the Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun categories, with top shooters from across the world participating. The ISSF World Cup Final, organized by the NRAI, is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport of shooting.
The inaugural ceremony will be held on October 14 at 6:30 PM, with Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, attending as the Chief Guest. Also present will be Luciano Rossi, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation, serving as the Guest of Honour, alongside other dignitaries such as Raninder Singh, Patron of the NRAI, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Chairman, and K. Sultan Singh, Organizing Secretary.
