Shillong, Oct 3: Garo Hills is all set to witness one of the biggest festivals at Baljek, LIVE @ GARO HILLS 2.0, from Thursday with an eclectic mix of music, food, craft and overall a feel good time.
This three-day event would feature some of the best bands from the country playing live music, together with the best of cuisine, local brew and display of the finest handicrafts.
Although Live @ Garo Hills 2.0 did have a drag race planned, but this event was cancelled at the last moment due to logistical reasons, the local organisers have informed. The event is being supported by Meghalaya Tourism and organised by Ivory Valley and VAS Incorporated.
The event would entertain the people with some of the best music performed by an amazing lineup of musicians like Bombay Vikings, Bombay Bassment, Rito Riba, Shankuraj Konwar, TRAP, MUZ, Saldorik, Polar Lights, DOTH and more. The event would also witness a number of influencers from Garo Hills.
The organisers have also collaborated with Book My Show as the ticketing partners and the tickets have been reasonably priced at Rs. 199 so that everybody can have a good time with their family and friends.
The organisers say this event would also ensure employment opportunities for the locals and upscale their skills. “We are committed to sourcing our general crew and volunteers locally. This approach will not only bring financial stability to the youth but also equip them with valuable skills in managing and handling large-scale events,” the event managers said.
It would further boost tourism and the hospitality industry with 25-30 percent of the event’s visitors and music lovers are expected to travel from other states and cities near Garo Hills.
Moreover, the local artisans would be able to display their craft to a large number of people, which would also help the handicraft sector, with the organisers and the tourism department doing the hand holding.
