Shillong, Dec 18: A lone activist of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Sunday displayed a banner demanding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attention to the long pending demands which include the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP).

The KSU activist raised the banner while the PM’s convoy was leaving from Polo area.

“To the Prime Minister, Implement ILP, revoke CAA & Indo-Nepal Treaty, Fulfill Central Agricultural University, include Khasi language in 8th Schedule, solve border disputes,” the banner read.

KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said the union was left with no option but to display a banner since they could not get an appointment with the PM to highlight the various issues concerning the state.

He said the Union had already submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister in November 2020.

Earlier, the PM had addressed the NEC meeting organized to mark its golden jubilee celebration.
