The State-of-the-art infrastructure in its new campus will have facilities that will open up many opportunities for hosting academic programs for both national and international students and management development engagements.

IIM Shillong’s Knowledge Centre in the new campus will be one of the most fully-automated libraries in India, with more than 40 databases accessible to students, scholars and faculty members as E-resources. It will also provide access to students, faculty, and local policymakers and bureaucrats to more than 17,000 E-journals. The campus will also provide high-speed internet access via optical-fibres, and will have sports and recreation centres, such as football and cricket grounds, and basketball courts.

Shishir Kumar Bajoria, Chairman Board of Governors, IIM Shillong, said on the occasion, “Today is a historic day for IIM Shillong as the honourable prime minister inaugurates the 120-acre new campus. Because nature and education go hand in hand, the campus—known as the campus in the cloud – is located in the lap of nature and offers education at its finest.”

Prof. DP Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong, said on the occasion, “I thank Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for gracing the occasion with his presence and inaugurating our New Campus. I on behalf of IIM Shillong fraternity am extremely grateful to our Hon’ble PM for mentioning about IIM Shillong and how it can contribute for the development of the NE region, which was an inspiration for us to work even harder. IIM Shillong is a think-tank that serves the entire north-eastern region in addition to being a business school. This New campus will enable us to enrol more students, do more research, and work harder and more efficiently to achieve the prosperity on India’s North-Eastern states, an aim that is very high on the Hon’ble PM’s priority list.”
