Tura, September 17: In an entertaining quaterfinal match of the Inter Mahari Men’s Football Tournament, the Manda Mahari team defeated the Cheran Mahari team with a final score of 4-0 on Wednesday at the Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Field in Chandmary, Tura, and secured it’s place in the upcoming semi-finals.
Manda mahari’s Wegasal M Sangma drew first blood scoring with a precise header in the 4th minute followed by Mittilson M Sangma successfully converting a penalty in the 27th minute, giving their team a 2-0 lead at halftime.

After the break, Manda mahari came in with renewed energy and started dominating ball possession. Mittilson M Sangma scored again, beautifully converting a free kick in the 37th minute. Soon, Chenik Ch Marak scored the final goal for Manda mahari in the 38th minute, securing a spot in the semi final with a 4-0 victory.
Cheran tried their best but failed to convert their chances. Cheran’s Lebian Ch Momin fouled twice and was shown red card, while Tengkam Badee Ch Momin was awarded the yellow card for a foul.

Looking ahead, the Inter Mahari Football Tournament will enter into the semi finals of both women and men division. In the women division, it’s Mangsang mahari vs Dangsu mahari on September 18, and Mrong mahari vs Gabil mahari on September 22. In the men division, it’s Chambugong vs A•we on September 20, and Tegite vs Manda on September 24. All the semi final matches are scheduled at the P. A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre, Tura.
