Imphal, April 15: BJP MLA from Manipur’s Heirok constituency, Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, on Thursday resigned as advisor to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
In his resignation letter, he stated that he was neither given any responsibility nor consulted since his appointment. He further expressed his desire to focus on the 2024 Lok Sabha election and on development in his constituency.
In addition, in a video post on Facebook, Thokchom Radheshyam Singh expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s functioning. Singh also appealed to all politicians to regain the public’s trust. “People have lost their faith in politicians because many of them are busy doing lip service,” he said.
Singh suggested in the video that details of all land transactions made in the past six years should be put in the public domain.
“This trend has become very embarrassing for those who are committed to working for the people,” said Singh, a former IPS officer.
