Imphal, Jan 14: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Sunday visited the families of four people who were killed recently.
Taking to X (Twitter), N Biren Singh said, “Visited the bereaved families of the four farmers, who recently lost their lives when collecting firewood, at Terakhong Makha Leikai Akasoi in Bishnupur District.”
“Extended my sincere condolences and prayed for the bereaved families to find strength in bearing the irreparable loss and fortitude in the hour of grief. May the departed souls rest in peace. The state government also extends solidarity to them and will provide necessary assistance and redressal,” Singh stated.

The four victims were identified as: Ibomcha Singh and his son Anand Singh, Romen Singh and Dara Singh. The bodies of the victims were recovered on Thursday by the police.
Suspected militants killed the four villagers, including a father and his son, who had gone missing last week in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.
