In a meeting with Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi, Congress leaders formally requested permission to hold the launch meeting for the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ at the Hapta Kangjeibung ground. The Chief Secretary has assured the Congress leaders that information regarding the granting of permission will be communicated soon.
The Congress party submitted the permission request to the government on January 2, emphasizing that the Yatra is not a political event or an election campaign. According to Venugopal, the Yatra is a call for justice for women, youth, farmers, and the impoverished, marking it as a historic initiative with a noble cause.
