Imphal, Nov 11: Thousands of students under the banner of Joint Student Body (JSB) on Saturday held a massive protest rally against the educational negligence of the Kuki-Zo tribal students of Manipur.
The protest rally started from Lamka public ground and ended at Churachandpur.
Displaced medical students from JNIMS, RIMS who were undergoing MBBS training and PG Course but were unable to continue their studies as the government failed to make alternative arrangements for them participated in large numbers in the rally.
The students demanded the government to make alternative arrangements for continuation of their studies in nearby states.
The students also demanded the resumption of Online Examination through the CDS Infotech Online Examination which was discontinued after the violence broke out on May 3, 2023.
Other points of protest in the rally included: burning of documents / certificates, properties / study materials and their belongings and more particularly the burning of certificates allegedly by one Sintha Nganba Lourembam which has been viral in various social media groups recently was strongly protested.
