Crafted by the dynamic Mumbai-born duo, Falguni Shah and Gaurav Shah, this catchy tune isn’t just a musical marvel; it’s a celebration of the International Year of Millets, declared by the United Nations. The song not only grooves but also sheds light on the health benefits of millets and the government’s mission to turn these tiny grains into nutritional powerhouses.
Released in June to kick off the International Year of Millets-2023 festivities, “Abundance in Millets” splices in snippets from Prime Minister Modi’s spirited speech at the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference in New Delhi. Who knew millets could inspire such a toe-tapping beat?
With 2023 officially dubbed the “International Year of Millets,” thanks to India’s proposal winning the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation’s stamp of approval, the song is more than just a chart-topper – it’s a global groove.
From pearl millet (Bajra) to finger millet (Ragi), the song celebrates the diverse array of millets grown in India. It’s not just a song; it’s a musical journey through the fields of sorghum (Jowar) and the alleys of barnyard millet.
