Imphal, July 16: In a tragic incident, a 50-years-old woman was shot dead and her face disfigured in Manipur’s Imphal East district on Saturday late evening, officials said.

According to reports, the woman was shot on her face by unknown assailant at her residence at Sawombung area.

Soon after the incident, the security forces immediately rushed to the area and launched a search operation to nab the armed miscreants.

Belonging to the Maring Naga community, the woman, according to her neighbours, has some mental health issues.
