MBoSE HSSLC 2025 | West Khasi Hills leads with 92.3% as female excel in commerce stream

Shillong, May 5: An overall pass percentage of 81.28% recorded in the Commerce stream of the results declared by  Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Monday .

Out of 2,501 students who appeared, 2,033 successfully passed the examination.

West Khasi Hills emerged as the top-performing district with a 92.3% pass percentage, followed closely by East Jaintia Hills (92.45%) and Eastern West Khasi Hills (88.29%). Meanwhile, districts like South West Garo Hills (38.46%) and North Garo Hills (64.1%) recorded the lowest pass percentages. South Garo Hills had no candidates registered under this stream.

Gender-wise, female candidates once again outshone their male counterparts, with 86.61% of regular female students passing compared to 83.62% of regular male students. The trend continued in the non-regular category, where 49.5% of female candidates passed against 40.47% of males.

A total of 2,274 regular candidates appeared, out of which 1,932 passed, bringing the regular pass percentage to 84.96%. In contrast, only 101 out of 227 non-regular candidates passed, with a low pass rate of 44.49%.

The results also revealed strong performances in the Scheduled Tribe category, with pass percentages of 77.34% for males and 81.38% for females, while the General category candidates recorded the highest success rates—88.65% for males and 92.02% for females.
