Shillong , May 5: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Shillong has issued a weather alert for parts of Meghalaya, indicating the likelihood of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning over the next few hours.

According to the advisory issued on May 5 at 4:00 PM, the affected regions include East Garo Hills and West Garo Hills. The weather activity is expected to occur at a few places within these districts and may persist until around 7:00 PM the same day.

Residents are advised to remain cautious, avoid open areas during thunderstorms, and follow local safety advisories.
