Shillong, Sept 13: Meghalaya Assembly’s Autumn session was adjourned for the day on Monday as a mark of respect to the departed Mawphlang MLA SK Sunn.
Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh informed that when a sitting legislator dies when the Assembly is in session, the House is adjourned.

The Assembly only took up obituary reference during the day.
The Assembly will resume on Tuesday.
Sunn passed away on September 10, 2021 after contracting Covid-19 infection.
He is the first legislator to have died during an ongoing Assembly session in Meghalaya and fifth legislator to have passed away since the Assembly elections in 2018.
