Shillong, April 12: The Meghalaya State Education Department (SED) is nearing completion of student data entry for the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE). As of today, *93% of student data has been entered, within the stipulated time of April 15th, 2024, for all schools to complete the process.
The SED also addressed a high number of student entries currently in the “dropbox” category. The SED has urged schools to review and finalize admissions for these students, thereby removing them from the dropbox. Schools encountering challenges in this regard are encouraged to seek assistance from their respective Block MIS Coordinators
UDISE a National Education Database is a comprehensive national data repository containing information on schools, teachers, and students across India. Developed by the Department of School Education under the Ministry of Education, the database is maintained by the National Informatics Centre.
The data repository plays a pivotal role in planning and effective decision-making within the education sector. By ensuring the availability of accurate and complete information, the government can efficiently allocate resources and target initiatives towards areas of utmost importance and necessity.
