Meghalaya wins National Taekwondo competition, bags 10 gold medals

Shillong, Jan 3: The Meghalaya Taekwondo team emerged as the overall champion at the National Taekwondo competition held in Kolkata and Asansol.

Under the leadership of team coach Binod Kumar and captain Himmat Jyrwa, the Meghalaya contingent showcased exceptional talent, securing a total of 10 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals during the fiercely competitive event.

What added a unique charm to Meghalaya’s victory was the standout performance of their oldest Taekwondo player, 57-year-old Samsung Killing. Despite his age, Killing showcased incredible agility and skill, capturing the hearts of both the audience and fellow competitors.
