Baghmara, May 17: Wild elephants attacked a mentally challenged man in Gasuapara border on Friday killing him on the spot.
South Garo Hills SP S Bhamaniya said that police in Gasuapara station were informed about an elephant attack in the border area and after a preliminary enquiry it was ascertained that the victim, who was mentally unsound, was attacked and killed by a wild elephant. His body has been taken to Baghmara hospital for post mortem.

The victim was identified as Lt. Ajit Kr Hajong, resident of Melapara village under Mahendraganj police station, South West Garo Hills district.
