Nongstoin, June 27: Miscreants set fire to vehicles, including a JCB belonging to the Joint Stock Company Industrial Association, during the early hours of Thursday in West Khasi Hills district.
The Joint Stock Company Industrial Association, a Delhi-based road construction firm currently engaged in projects in West Khasi Hills, was targeted in the incident.
According to Satesh Kumar, the Project Manager, the incident occurred around 4:15 AM near the company employees’ quarters in Ladweitang, Nongstoiñ.
The vehicles damaged include a Maruti Gypsy, a Bolero Pickup, and a Mahindra XUV. Additionally, the miscreants set fire to a JCB parked in Mawthungkper.
Kumar mentioned that company employees first noticed the incident and promptly responded to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, the vehicles sustained minor damages, and there were no reported injuries.
