Tura, Sept 29: The monkey has been captured by the Forest Department after a week-long chase with wildlife expert Dr. Daoharu Bora from the Wildlife Trust of India taking charge of the captured monkey.
The monkey expert from Manas National Park had come for a recce on Thursday to capture it.

The monkey was tranquillised in the morning hours near Nakham Bazar in Tura. The Monkey expert from Manas National Park, who was sent by WTI spearheaded started the operation from 5am.
The tranquillised monkey was brought to Mini Zoo at Nehru park.
Following which the veterinary team performed an inspection on the sedated monkey.
The Hub News team met the DFO R.K Marak, who said “Dr. Boro had reached Tura on Thursday and after recce of location had gone to Bazar area on Friday Morning at 5 am to try to locate and capture the Monkey.”
He added, after the health inspection by the Vet team the condition of the animal is in good condition.
When asked about the next plan, he said “as of now we will continue the montoring of the health of the monkey.

Earlier, there were reports of conflicts between Human-Rhesus macaque (Rhesus monkey) and monkey biting the public in Tura Bazar for a long time.
Since then the Wildlife Department has been in the pursuit of capturing the Rhesus macaque (monkey).
