Must read

Agartala, July 5: A comprehensive multi-agency counter-terrorism exercise was successfully conducted at the Secretariat Office in Agartala on Friday evening.

The exercise was conducted to bolster preparedness and enhance intraoperability among security forces.

The drill saw seamless coordination between specialised units of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Tripura Police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), along with the Tripura Police Dog Squad and Bomb Squad. Joint teams swiftly cordoned off the Secretariat complex, executed room clearance drills, and neutralised a simulated threat.

A key highlight was the successful mock rescue of hostages from within the Secretariat building and extensive searches for potential explosives. The Dog Squad and Bomb Squad played a critical role in securing the premises, highlighting the value of specialised units in high-risk scenarios.

The exercise underlined Tripura’s commitment to protecting vital government infrastructure and ensuring public safety. The participation of multiple agencies not only tested operational readiness but also strengthened inter-agency collaboration vital for effective crisis response.
