Shillong, May 19: Multiple fast food and stalls were vandalised by unknown miscreants in Police Bazar (Khyndailad) on Friday afternoon.

This happed a day after a local taxi driver and his friend were assaulted by allegedly by a group of non-tribals in Police Bazar on Thursday evening. However, all the accused were arrested by the State police within 24 hours of the incident.

As for the vandalism, although the cause is not known, it is suspected to be connected with the incident on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, the Taxi Drivers Welfare Association has called off its strike and will resume services from Saturday following immediate action on their demand by police. The association had demanded arrest of the accused in the assault case within 24 hours.
