Guwahati, April 24: In a move to assess the progress of ongoing infrastructure development projects, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, the General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (N.F. Railway), conducted a thorough inspection of the Kamakhya – New Bongaigaon (via Goalpara) section under the Rangiya Division today.
Accompanied by Neeraj Gupta, the Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya, and senior officials from the headquarters and division, the General Manager inspected the enroute stations and took stock of the progress of doubling and electrification works in the section. He also examined the safety-related gears at the railway stations. He interacted with railway officials to gather feedback on various issues and assess their awareness of safety-related matters.
During the inspection, the General Manager conducted a window trailing inspection, examining crucial areas such as marshalling yards, coaching yards, minor and major bridges, running rooms, and health units. He thoroughly inspected the ongoing activities and examined the developmental plans for these sections.
The General Manager inspected the plans for new station buildings, crew lobbies, foot-over bridges, platforms, and other passenger amenity works. He also inspected the ongoing station redevelopment activities at the New Bongaigaon station, which is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme to provide better, additional, and enhanced passenger amenities.
In a Press Release, the PRO of N.F. Railway stated that the General Manager’s visit aimed to review the progress of various developmental works, assess the facilities at different locations, interact with officials, and discuss plans for infrastructural development and business expansion in the area. His positive assessment of the ongoing works reflects Northeast Frontier Railway’s commitment to providing passengers with safe, efficient, and comfortable travel experiences.
