Must read

Dimapur, June 22: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Monday stressed the need for an education system that nurtures innovation, critical thinking and lifelong learning, saying these qualities will be crucial for achieving India’s vision of a developed nation by 2047.

Speaking at the Byatikram Education Conclave 9.0 in Dimapur, attended by educationists, academicians, principals, teachers and students, the Governor described education as the most powerful instrument of social and economic transformation.

Highlighting the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Yadav said the policy provides a strong roadmap for educational reform through multidisciplinary learning, skill development and creativity. In an era shaped by Artificial Intelligence and rapid technological change, he said students must be prepared not only with academic knowledge but also with the ability to adapt, innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.

The Governor emphasised that education should create job creators rather than merely job seekers, encouraging young people to become entrepreneurs and drivers of progress. He also pointed to the Northeast’s immense potential, citing its rich cultural heritage, indigenous knowledge systems and youthful population as key strengths that can fuel growth when combined with quality education and research.

Paying tribute to teachers, Yadav described them as the architects of the nation whose guidance helps shape the character and aspirations of future generations. He also congratulated students honoured at the conclave for their academic achievements.

Expressing confidence in the event’s outcomes, the Governor said the discussions would generate fresh ideas and partnerships to strengthen the region’s educational ecosystem. He also lauded the Byatikram Group for promoting educational excellence across the Northeast.
