Shillong, April 28: East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem on Monday said there are no Pakistani nationals residing in Shillong as well as the entire district.
Speaking to reporters, Syiem said, “However, the process is on to see through records if anybody has come. But as of now, we have checked there are no Pakistani nationals in Shillong.”
On April 25, the state police directed all Pakistani nationals except those who are on long term visa, diplomatic and official visa to leave the territory of India immediately on or before April 27.

The direction has been issued by Superintendents of Police (SPs) – cum – Foreigners Regional Registration Officers of the different districts of the state in compliance with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) direction dated April 25.
The Pakistani nationals on medical visa are directed to leave the country on or before April 29 and those on SAARC visa are directed to leave on or before April 26.
Failure to comply with the above direction shall render such person(s) liable to stringent legal action as per law, the state police had said.
