Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday confirmed there are no Pakistani nationals residing in the state of Meghalaya even as he assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation along the international border with Bangladesh.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem on Monday said there are no Pakistani nationals residing in Shillong as well as the entire district.
Following Government of India’s decision to revoke most of the existing visas issued to Pakistani nationals and suspension of all visa services to citizens of Pakistan with immediate effect, Meghalaya has also asked Pakistani nationals to leave the state before April 26th.
