Free medical camp brings healthcare to residents of Kohima's Tsiepfütsiepfhe AG Colony

Kohima, July 25: Scores of residents of Tsiepfütsiepfhe AG Colony in Kohima availed free healthcare services at a medical camp organised at the TT Colony Hall on Saturday.

The camp offered free medical consultations and basic health services, with local residents turning up to receive treatment and medical advice.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, 9 Kohima Town MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Ato Rhutso said the initiative was driven by a team of volunteers from different tribes, reflecting the spirit of unity and service to society.

Expressing gratitude to the people for electing him as their representative, Dr. Rhutso assured residents that their trust would never be taken for granted. Describing Tsiepfütsiepfhe AG Colony as one of the pillars of his constituency, he pledged to continue working for the welfare of its people and said he would personally visit bedridden residents who were unable to attend the camp.

The MLA also said that despite not holding a government portfolio, he remained committed to public service. Acknowledging that he might not always be able to execute large infrastructure projects, Dr. Rhutso said he would continue supporting unemployed youth through livelihood initiatives by providing tools and equipment such as ovens, carpentry kits and other machinery to help them become self-reliant.

Kohima Municipal Council Councillor Ketousie Khamo, in his welcome address, appreciated the organisers for bringing free healthcare services to the colony and described the initiative as a significant step towards community welfare.

The inaugural programme was chaired by TTC General Secretary Vilekho Bio, while the invocation was offered by Malol Neikha, Deacon of CRC Tsiepfütsiepfhe. The health camp commenced after the formal programme, with doctors attending to residents throughout the day.
