Shillong, July 14: Water supply will be affected in Shillong and adjoining areas as there was a sudden breakdown of C.I gravity main pipelines of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme in Upper Shillong.
In a notification by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has stated that the repairing work are underway, there will be no water supply in Shillong and adjoining areas on Friday and Saturday.
Some of the areas where water supply will be disrupted includes – Shillong Municipal Board areas, Shillong Cantonment Board areas, Nongthymmai and Mawlai.
The notification further stated that the repairing work will be likely completed by July 15 evening. The water supply will be restored once repairing work completed, added the notification.
