Minister in-charge Public Health Engineering (PHE) Marcuise N Marak on Wednesday announced the successful commissioning and testing of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (GSWSS) Phase‑III.
Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Marcuise N Marak on Tuesday informed that the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (GSWSS-III) project is expected to be commissioned by March next year, with a current completion percentage of around 70%.
In a significant development, the Hima Mawphlang handed over the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Chief Secretary DP Wahlang on Friday, after three years of continuous dialogue.
According to the Minister incharge Public Health Engineering (PHE) Marcuise N Marak, the demands of the Hima Mawphlang keep on increasing despite the government's readiness to provide jobs to around 20 people from the area.
Some of the areas where water supply will be disrupted includes - Shillong Municipal Board areas, Shillong Cantonment Board areas, Nongthymmai and Mawlai.
