Nongpoh women police rescues minor boy from Assam within 2 days of being kidnapped

Nongpoh, July 28: A minor boy who had gone missing on July 25, 2023, while on his way to school, was safely rescued two days later from Shantipur, Jagiroad, Assam. The successful operation was carried out in close collaboration between the Nongpoh Police and the Assam Police.

The incident came to light when a missing complaint was lodged at Nongpoh Women PS, reporting the disappearance of a young boy on the fateful morning of July 25, 2023. Police promptly initiated investigations and registered a case (Women PS case no 43(07)2023 U/s 363 IPC) to determine the circumstances behind the boy’s disappearance.

As the investigation progressed, suspicions grew, pointing towards the victim’s uncle as the alleged kidnapper. It was suspected that he had taken the minor boy to Assam. Police immediately launched a search operation, checking every known place that the boy could have been taken to by his uncle.

On July 27, 2023, the relentless efforts of the police bore fruit when they successfully located the victim in Shantipur, Jagiroad, Assam. The operation to rescue the minor boy was carried out seamlessly, thanks to the efficient coordination and cooperation between the Nongpoh Women Police Station and the Assam Police.

After the rescue, the boy was reunited with his family.

Further, police have assured to take action against the accused person.
