Guwahati, April 24: In a significant initiative under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Indigo Airlines and Guwahati International Airport Ltd (GIAL), the operator of LGBI Airport in Guwahati, have jointly organized a free health camp. The camp was organised today at the GIAL Administrative Building. It was open to all employees of LGBI Airport working across various organizations.
The health camp was overseen by a team of doctors from Apollo Hospitals under the guidance of Chief Physician Dr Soma Dhar Sarkar and Dr Nabyendu Sinha. The camp offered a variety of medical tests, including Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Eyesight, and other generic tests, as part of the check-up program.
In addition to providing medical advice, the doctors also offered counselling to the employees on various health issues and preventive measures. The camp saw an impressive turnout, with over 400 participants attending.
Chief Airport Officer Shri Utpal Baruah expressed his views on the importance of Health, stating, “Health is wealth. But, the irony of the modern days is that we procrastinate most in actions relating to our own Health and keep delaying. By conducting this camp, we bring the facility to our threshold. At least, checking basic parameters can give us a good glimpse of our Health.”
The camp was initiated by Indigo Airlines, one of the esteemed airport stakeholders. Both Indigo Airlines and GIAL expressed their satisfaction in organizing the camp, emphasizing their commitment to the Health and well-being of their employees.
