Over 600 two-wheelers take part in BJP’s “Rally For Development” bike rally through the city

Shillong, Dec 17: The Shillong District unit of the BJP on Saturday organised a mega bike rally with more than 600 two wheelers.

The rally, which started at the Fire Brigade Madan Iewrynghep, moved through the entire city before closing at the State Party Office at Bivar road. The rally was flagged off by BJP’s State President, Ernest Mawrie, and Cabinet Minister, Sanbor Shullai.

At the flag off, Mawrie said that the rally is a celebration of the good work that has happened in Meghalaya under the Narendra Modi led central government schemes. He said that the party will highlight the work of the Central Government and impress upon the people that a BJP Government in the state too will double the pace of development as well. Sanbor Shullai also participated in the rally along with the bikers.

At the closing program, MLA A. L. Hek congratulated the karyakartas for carrying high the flag of the party through the city. He insisted that the energy that the party is driving into the state will spread to all corners and the people will elect a BJP government in the coming elections.

The ‘Rally For Development’ is a call by the BJP to the people of the state to choose development over all else in the coming elections.
