Police arrest four for alleged attack on West Khasi Hills legislator’s sister’s house

Shillong, March 12: Meghalaya Police have arrested four individuals suspected of vandalizing the residence of Theresa Dkhar, sister of Mawshynrut MLA Methadius Dkhar, at Seinduli-1 village, West Khasi Hills on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the attack, which took place around 11:30 PM, involved miscreants pelting stones and bottles at the house.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Following a complaint filed by the victims, police personnel from Mawshynrut Police Station launched an immediate investigation and swiftly apprehended four suspects.

Those arrested have been identified as Skhemborlin Hoojon from Nongryngkew A, who is also the owner of a Grand Vitara (ML10-D-0254) linked to the crime, Firstbornshine Paliar from Seinduli-1, Shanborlang Syiem from Seinduli-1, and Silicus Swangre from Tynhiang, informed the police.

Police have also seized the Grand Vitara used during the incident.

A case has been registered under Section 125/324 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and further investigations are underway.
