Shillong, March 12: In their latest operation against illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) stationed in Meghalaya rescued 46 cattle worth more than ₹8 lakh, which were intended for smuggling into Bangladesh, on Tuesday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the troops of 4th Battalion of BSF Meghalaya conducted a swift operation near the International Border in the West Jaintia Hills district. During the operation, 46 cattle were found tied in a jungle area, strategically placed for smuggling across the border.

The seized cattle were subsequently handed over to Muktapur police for further necessary legal action.
In a press statement, BSF Meghalaya reaffirmed that it remains committed to ensuring the security of the border and preventing illegal trans-border activities.
