Tura, Feb 25: A polling party going from Tura to their polling station in Jangrapara, Tikrikilla met with an accident at around 9 PM causing injury to 8 polling personnel.

The accident took place in Photamati village when the Mahindra pik up truck travelling in high speed suddenly lost control and overturned. The accident led to the second polling officer sustaining head injuries and has been taken to hospital. Two BSF personnel and one home guard personnel who were giving armed escort also sustained injuries.

The Zonal magistrate has since arrived on the scene and taken control of the EVM and VVPAT and proceeded to the Jangrapara polling station.
