Ri Bhoi District prepares for 6th Meghalaya Games; Swimming debuts in contingent

Nongpoh, December 5: Members of the Ri Bhoi District Sports Association (RBDSA) are gearing up to represent the district in the 6th Meghalaya Games, set to be held soon in Jowai.

The association has confirmed participation in Athletics, Football, Archery and also in Swimming.

To finalise the team, a two-day trial and selection camp was held at the Raid Marngar playground. The event saw the presence of dignitaries like Ferdynald Kharkamni, President of KSU North Khasi Hills District, RB Shadap, President of RBDSA and other leaders who encouraged the athletes.

RBDSA President RB Shadap expressed confidence in the district’s talented players, stating, “Ri Bhoi District will showcase exceptional talent at the Meghalaya Games.”

Approximately 15 male and female athletes will be selected for Athletics, alongside participants for other sports events.

Notably, this year marks Ri Bhoi’s debut in Swimming, with participants for the event already finalised.
