Shillong, Oct 1: A free health camp was organised by Christ School, Mukroh in collaboration with Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong and Rotary Club of Jowai on Saturday in the school premises.
The event was attended by five doctors, teachers and students of the school, the villagers, besides Presidents and members from both the Rotary Clubs.
During the inaugural session, Prof. Henry Lamin, founder cum chairman of the school, welcomed everyone and thanked the Rotary Clubs for this much needed initiative. He highlighted the need for good health for prosperity.
The other speakers included Presidents from both the Rotary Clubs, who informed everyone on Rotary’s initiative on securing good health for everyone and also about Rotary’s contribution for polio eradication, organising regular health camps, equipping hospitals with life-saving facilities and recognizing the contributions by health workers through various awards.
Dr. Banjop Dkhar spoke on how daily practices can lead to good health and shared with everyone about health tips to follow.
More than 200 villagers including women and children registered and benefitted from the free health camp.
