SHILLONG, Sept 28: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said it seems that the opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) in Meghalaya is planning to make its national spokesperson Saket Gokhale as an MP candidate.
“Let the state unit of the AITC tell us if they are planning to make him (Gokhale) MP candidate,” Tynsong told reporters.
He was reacting to the constant nagging by the AITC national spokesperson for a public debate on the alleged misgovernance by the NPP-led MDA government.
Stating he is not interested in spending time talking about Gokhale, Tynsong said, “In fact, I think this man (Gokhale) does not know the procedure. You have every right to get information so why don’t you go for RTI, why don’t you get all the details from the concerned departments then we too have every right to reply. Therefore, you cannot just say we want to debate.”
Further, Tynsong also questioned the failure of the AITC to appoint a spokesperson who is from Meghalaya.
“Moreover, we recently spoke so much; we debated so much on different issues in the autumn session. That’s what I am telling you, I don’t have time to talk with the so-called spokesperson of the AITC,” he said.
