Shillong, Nov 25: Shillong city on Friday wore a deserted look the five pressure groups – KSU, FKJGP, RBYF, and the JSU – called for non-cooperation movement (NCM) of all government employees in protest against the killing of villagers at Mukroh in West Jaiñtia Hills.
These organizations asked government employees to skip their offices, exempting only the schools and colleges in view of the ongoing examinations.
The NCM call saw low attendance of government employees in the government offices in the city. Banks and shops along the GS Road were also closed during the day.
Even those shops that opened in the Khyndailad area were closed early.
