Gangtok, Sept 5: Four Indian Army personnel lost their lives after their vehicle fell into a deep gorge in eastern Sikkim on Thursday.
The vehicle veered off the road and fell about 700 to 800 feet gorge at Vertical Veer, near Dalopchand Dara along Rhenock Rongli state highway, popularly known as Silk Route, in Pakyong District.
They were travelling through the Silk Route and were enroute to Zuluk in Pakyong District from Pedong in West Bengal.
The deceased have been identified as Pradeep Patel (driver) from Madhya Pradesh, W. Peter (craftsman) from Manipur, Naik Gursev Singh from Haryana, and Subedar K Thangapandi from Tamil Nadu.
All deceased belonged to Enroute Mission Command unit from Binaguri in West Bengal.
