Nagaon superintendent of police Nabaneet Mahanta said, “As preliminary investigation revealed, four minors picked up the smoke cell, which later exploded. The youths are rushed to the hospital, and their condition is out of danger, and two of them were released from the hospital.”

Mahanta said that there is a possibility that a smoke cell may have been used in the smoke and illumination in the firing range and may have been left there by mistake.

“We will have to initiate a probe in this regard. We cannot pass any comments right away. We will have to get an expert opinion in this regard,” Mahanta said.
