Tura, Oct 5: The two social activists from South Garo Hills have filed an RTI over the Baghmara and Rongara C&RD blocks for issues of misappropriation of funds from central schemes.
According to them, they had filed an RTI on the integrated chief minister’s special development funds (CMSDF) and Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP) central schemes, which implemented projects for the development of the South Garo Hills region, but the C&RD block office did not work properly with the region.
They also claimed that none of the schemes were implemented in a proper manner, whether it was a scheme for the construction of school buildings or any other.
They strongly condemned the C&RD block office for not working properly, which the central government gave to the benefit of the South Garo Hills region under the scheme of MGNREGA.
They are requested by officials to go for a spot inspection to find out if the programme has been implemented or not.
