Sonowal Assumes Charge at Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sets Sights on Maritime Empowerment

Guwahati, June 11: On Monday evening, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal assumed charge of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.

In his address to the office bearers and staff, the Minister expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver on the ministry’s goals and objectives. Sonowal reiterated the commitment to serve the country and work towards the vision of a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat.”

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has been doing commendable work to empower the maritime sector and ensure its holistic development. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to the cause of nation-building, with ‘Nation First’ as our guiding principle, as we move towards achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat.”

The Minister emphasized that the ministry will persist in its efforts to empower the maritime sector, as envisioned in the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
