Shillong, May 18: The two-day AGRIVISION conclave, focused on “Futuristic Agriculture for Atmanirbhar Bharat in the Eastern Himalayan Region,” concluded successfully on Saturday at the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CAU-I), Umiam, Meghalaya.
Four technical sessions were conducted, and 103 research papers were presented by esteemed Professors, Directors, Joint Directors, Deans, and students from across India participated in the conclave.Young researchers were presented with awards for the best oral and poster presentations.
Alexander Laloo Hek, Hon’ble Minister of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Government of Meghalaya, graced the valedictory session as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of crucial crops and their export potential, emphasizing the necessity of demand-driven research.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. D. Thakuria, Dean of CPGSAS, Umiam.
