The evacuation of Indian citizens from the violence hit Bangladesh is going on in full swing with around 200 students scheduled to cross over to India via Agartala Land Port on Saturday. Among these are 40 citizens of Meghalaya, mostly medical students.
The intricate six-and-a-half-hour surgery took place at the main referral hospital, AGMC and GBP Hospital at Agartala, in collaboration with Shija Hospital from Imphal which has successfully completed 114 kidney transplants to date.
The blood donation camp was organized in response to an appeal by Chief Minister Manik Saha, who called for voluntary blood donations to address the critical blood shortage in hospitals across the state following the recent elections.
