The All Jaintia Muster Roll Workers & Labour Union (AJMRWLU) on Thursday threatened to go for massive agitations if the state government fails to review its recent decision to revise the floor basic rates of minimum wages in Meghalaya, which according to them does not commensurate with inflation.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma's words were full of emotions as he addressed the gathering of muster roll workers and cooks during the 8th General Meeting of the All Jaintia Muster Roll Workers and Labour Union on Thursday, as he recalled that he has been aware of their problems and their struggles for over a decade, even before he became the chief Minister.
Assuring muster roll workers and mid-day meal cooks, the Chief Minister committed to addressing challenges related to wages, maternity leave, and other benefits.
