Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has assured Meghalaya BJP leaders that concerns raised by them regarding the relocation of the Dalit Sikh community from Them Iew Mawlong and unresolved land matters in Shillong Cantonment will be taken up for early resolution.
The state BJP on Monday said it has not offered a party ticket to former Chief Secretary DP Wahlang for the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha byelection, stating that a remark by senior party leader and Pynthorumkhrah legislator AL Hek on the matter was his “personal statement” and not the party’s decision.
The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed gratitude to the state government for acknowledging its recommendations on reforms to the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations that includes aligning the eligibility criteria with UPSC pattern.
