Hundreds of individuals on Wednesday defied the curfew in Manipur's Bishnupur district and marched towards the heavily fortified security barricade, which has been strategically positioned between the Kuki-majority Churachandpur and Meitei-majority Bishnupur districts.
Churachandpur Superintendent of Police Karthik Malladi said on Tuesday that additional forces have been deployed in the disturbed areas of the district to thwart any kinds of anti-social activities
At least six people, including a father-son duo, were killed in violence-hit Manipur in the last 24 hours, and 16 people have been injured in the Bishnupur-Churachandpur border areas since early Saturday morning.

According to a police officer in Imphal, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurred late on Wednesday evening inside a vehicle. Additional security forces were deployed to the area to ensure the safety of local residents and to investigate the incident.
